Wilderness Program
The Wilderness Program is a progressive ranking system that gives campers, CITs, and staff the opportunity to learn new skills and set individual goals to accomplish throughout their time at camp.

Each earned rank is recognized by a patch and feather and corresponds with a Cornerstone -- a statement that illustrates esteemed qualities and guides behavior. In order, the ranks* are as follows:

Blue Bird:
For our new campers, the rank of Blue Bird can be easily earned in one two-week session. To receive their Blue Bird rank, campers need only to participate in each activity area and learn the Conservation Cornerstone.

Red Squirrel:
For returning campers who have achieved the rank of Blue Bird, the rank of Red Squirrel requires that campers give up their free time to complete projects in each activity area. In addition, campers must know both the Conservation and Truth Cornerstones.

Wolf:
For campers who have achieved the rank of Red Squirrel, any CIT, and any new staff member, the rank of Wolf requires the completion of more advanced projects in each activity area, which usually takes longer than one two-week session. Other requirements include a day of toil and silence and knowledge of the Conservation, Truth, and Respect Cornerstones. Wolf candidates who successfully complete these activities stay on a camp overnight to achieve their rank. The rank of Wolf contains two parts (1st part and 2nd part or full-fledged), which are completed in separate sessions.

Silver Wolf:
This rank usually takes campers into their CIT and staff years and takes several summers to complete. Requirements include demonstrating responsibility and leadership, completing a 20-hour service project, and attending a backpacking trip to the Adirondacks led by camp staff. The rank of Silver Wolf contains two parts (1st part and 2nd part or full-fledged), which are completed in separate summers.

*Rank and cornerstone titles continue to evolve.
